Legendary DKE Alum and Renowned Chef Tony Ridgway ’66 Releases New Book” Kitchen Privileges: A Hands-On Account of Life, Food, and How to Cook

Our very own DKE Alumni Brother Tony Ridgway ’66 has written a new cookbook called “Kitchen Privileges: A Hands-On Account of Life, Food, and How to Cook” that is described as “the culmination of several years’ effort by Tony Ridgway along with his family and restaurant team.” As most of you know, Tony has been cooking since his days with the Lambda Chapter and many of his DKE Brothers can attest to his skills and talent for culinary creations. This book tells his story and shares his secrets.

Tony had an interest in food while growing up, which led to him learning techniques in the Bexley Kitchen with Professor Bob Page (Tau '44 and Lambda Chapter Advisor in the '60s). In 1995, after finishing his time in the Air Force, Tony moved his family to Naples FL where he opened Ridgway Bar & Grill and Tony’s Off Third (a wine and bakery shop).

You can read more about Tony and his story by following THIS LINK and purchasing his book. With Christmas right around the corner, it would be the perfect gift for any DKE Brother on your list. “Kitchen Privileges” is also available for purchase at any of Tony’s restaurants and eateries in Naples.

Here's what others have said about Tony's restaurants and eateries -

"Always a good meal at Ridgway. Blackened Mahi is outstanding, as was the Tuscan bean soup and carrot cake. And it is no wonder, as the owner, Tony, is always there."

"One of Naple’s consistently good restaurants. Been going there over 30 years and hope I make another 30 more."

Tony remembers his days at Kenyon, and the confidence he gained from his time in the West Wing that eventually led him to jump headlong into a venture he’d never tried. “The bonds and friendships I made in Lambda have served me well over the years,” he said. And, if any Brother is near Naples, he’d love to serve you some of the highest-rated cuisine and wine in Southwest Florida.

P.S. - You'll get a kick out of the wallpaper that used to be in the men's room at one of Tony's restaurants, see below at the bottom of the article.
